How mentorship works in this Unit 2 pilot, what Anannt Education will and will not claim, and how to use the loop without treating local progress as an AP score.
Anannt treats feedback as diagnosis, then one next practice — the way a teacher sitting next to you would. If the short response treats bias as automatic uselessness, the next drill is sourcing (observation vs inference), not “watch the lesson again.” If you can name ports but not a mechanism, the next drill is causation. If the excerpt’s gold path or monsoon cargo never appears, the gap is knowledge. Progress states (unassessed, exposure, developing, provisionally secure, retained) name evidence, not a predicted AP 1–5 score.
Anannt Education designed this Unit 2 loop: original curriculum, original items, and rubric-linked writing checks that a human can still dispute. Anannt does not score official AP exams, does not partner with the College Board, and does not guarantee a score. Writing feedback is labeled provisional. This build is not a nine-unit course, not Bluebook, and not a mock-exam engine.
Work in order when you can: lesson (mechanism + sourced task) → stimulus MCQ set → source-based short response → one-paragraph revision → delayed check on a fresh plague source at least seven days later. Today shows the next open task and why it is next. Skip around if you need to, but reading the lesson is exposure only; independent work is what can move an objective.
All three SAQs are required and source-based (secondary text, primary text, and non-text on the official exam). The LEQ is one required broad prompt, not a menu of three. Scoring rubrics were not rewritten as part of those format updates, so older practice still needs a format-year label. The exam is fully digital in Bluebook; this site is not Bluebook and does not grant official accommodations. Official facts come from the College Board; Anannt is independent.

Color is not the only scoring signal — labels name the decision. Long writing is usable on a phone and clearer on a desktop; a locked full mock would warn before a small viewport. This is not an official accommodations platform.
Primary extracts are public-domain translations (Pegolotti via Yule 1916; Ibn Battuta via Gibb 1929; Boccaccio via Rigg 1921). Teaching paraphrases are labeled as such. No invented quotation is presented as a primary source. Map and timeline text describe corridors and dates; they do not state the inference the quiz will ask you to make.
